  who escapes more often, those born into it or adult converts?

  what strikes me on this board is the number of adult converts that have left the borg, either fading out or getting df'd.

  from my experience (i was born into it, 2nd generation, left before getting baptized) most of the faders or escapees were also like.

  me, born into it, never really accepted it and just bowed out at the first opportunity.

  It's quite difficult to walk away for us that have been born into this religion. I speak from experience.

  I've just learned to cope with that fact, and try to concentrate in the positive aspects in order to keep my sanity.

  How do you try to combat world violence as individuals?

  i've just seen the pictures on the news from the children and babies who have just been killed.

  from what i hear soldiers were giving out sweets and gifts to the children when i suicide bomber drove into them and blasted them all to pieces in baghdad.

  makes me feel so helpless, but not hopeless.

  On my part, I report any unusual activities on the road and in my neighborhood. Although I live in a very tranquil, law-abiding community.

  I'm keeping my eyes out for the unusual looking individuals, though. Specially the type that consider us all "people of the book", and "infidels".

  Got my eyes and ears pealed on them!!!

  DY - Oh no, did I start another controversy with my comment???!!! I hope not. I was just saying what I'm doing individually.

  Is there another motive behind the production of Knocking?

  just a thought ... as i recall, in the early 90's the documentary "purple triangle" was made.

  this was made independant of the wts and once it was shown to them, because it was very pro-jw, they purchased the rights to the video and started distributing it among jw's.. is it possible, that joel engardio knew of this prior to his producing "knocking" and his attempt is to sell the video rights to the wts?

  any thoughts?.

  You know, looking at it from your perspective, it could very well be a business plan on the part of the people making the video.

  I thought that this video production was just an objective look at the WBTS from an outsider's point of view.

  These days nothing is as it seems, so who really knows what's the real reason behind it.

  hey all .

  am new here, am the sister of a minister of the jw in ireland, and also the aunt of 2 lovely nephews soon to be baptized into jw's faith!!

  we've tried for years to make her see sense and leave the jw's but it doens't work!!

  I choose to accentuate on the good, most days. Others accentuate on the bad and the ugly.

  i know this couple, and their good jw friend here at work just related it to me.

  she was talking about one of the faithful old "brothers" who had recently passed away.

  "sister husband's-high-up-in-the-organization mentioned that if armageddon doesn't come soon, the great crowd won't be "great" any longer, it'll be little, 'cause the older generation is all dying off.".

  They'll have to reform further.
